Week 3

advert
Oasis use bold text to make you see their advert along with a catchy tag line. They also make the less attractive part of the text smaller eg. “If we paid them”.

Project managers should review their annual performance this year by identifying actual results against the intended results for this year. This review should be along the lines of that done last year, following the guidelines provided. This review should not be more than three pages. Please note that, due to the fact that the information provided will feed directly into the annual report, it should be written with an external audience in mind. It is of importance given the considerable time constraints of those drafting the annual report that these guidelines be adhered to, despite the fact that many project managers must address multiple activities.
service advert
This house cleaning service talks about all the positives they bring with their service. They advertise themselves as “cheaper” without telling you a price, forcing you to contact them to find out how much they are. They also use bold font make important details stand out and target a certain audience.

Strong as an ox – Strong as Arnold Schwarzenegger on steroids

Flip your lid – Angry as a wasp

All in due time – As leisurely as a tortoise

All bent out of shape – As wonky as a boot lace

Stress out – As mad as rabid dog

Get under my skin – Like a beetle in a tree trunk

Go through the roof – Like a dead tree through a greenhouse

lease-this-car
This website is not very good as there is far to much going on on one page. Many of the photos are completely unnecessary including the cat, missile truck and multiple pictures of “Ling”. There is no title for the company, instead simply a line stating the owners name and that he sells cheap cars. This line would be suitable under an appropriate title such as “Lings Car Hire”. Navigating the functions of the website is difficult as there are so many buttons. It would be sensible to create well labelled buttons that can take potential customers to desired cars instead of listing them all in a long block list.

snip it car hire
This is a good car hire website as it is clear and to the point. The slogan is catchy and the screen is clear of any clutter. All of  the buttons are well labelled and easy to navigate, allowing for  a wider range of customers to use the site. The color scheme is plain and allows for the text on the page to stand out.

  1. Make sure you put the blog into some kind of context: what skills did we learn, why did we learn them, what examples did we look at, what did you do to demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained – then how did it go (evaluations).
Week 3 Copywriting: what is it. what skills do you need to become a copywriter
are the skills transferable to other forms and mediums of writing
what examples did we look at – what exercise did we do and why???

    who’s job it is – whose – who’s = who is
is far to much – too much – try and avoid simple errors by always proofreading your work and editing
